yes, but it may be a bit weak. DCC power supplies are on the order of 30VA at the lower end and 60VA, even 120VA on the high end. Compare that with your current power pack's rating.

I am currently using an older MRC power pack's fixed AC terminals to power the booster and the throttle extender card on my EasyDCC system. I have another more suitable transformer which I will be installing shortly, but for now, the old power pack is working fine.

Both the Bachmann EZ system and the Digitrax Zephyr can be used with your existing power supply to control trains. Most DCC systems can be powered with a power pack such as your MRC.

Some one should manufacture a DCC system you could hook up to your existing DC transformer. I have a MRC transformer and it is nice and works well. Why should I have to stop using it for my layout just because I want a digital system. All you would need to buy are decoders or an allready equiped locomotive and the system you hook up to your transformer.[soapbox][banghead]
