The more and more I hear this forum talk about DCC the more I would like to switch but being a new modeler I'm not sure what to look for. Any suggestions for a begginner dcc with a reasonable price, the layout in only a 4x8

For a 4x8 layout starting out and/or on a tight budget, Bachmann's system is good. It is a high quality system, that has a low price due to fewer functions. It was designed by Lenz, the inventor of DCC. As your railroad empire grows, you may elect to replace it, but it will provide a great learning experience.
