New LED Lighting Photos of my Locos
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 25, 2005 10:25 PM
Just thought I would share the latest photos of my layout and the lighting I installed on some of my F units and steam tender.

I changed over to almost all LEDs and fiber optics and with DCC, they are always constant intensity.

Now I just have to figure out how to do the numberboards on my Athearn F7's.

Also pics of my planned replacement layout.

Let me know what you think. View the pics at the link in my signature.

Thanks, I did add some nightime shots last night. Some are pretty dark, but I think you can make out the engine and tailcar lights.

NICE layout!! I especially like your tunnel spur photos--it's given me a couple of ideas on how to disguise some upper-lower level track problems I'm going to run into when I start laying scenery down in those areas. And being a fan of 4-8-2's, I was wondering who manufactured your home-road Mountain? That's one sweet-looking loco! You really do nice work.

nice layout, its very 'busy' with lots of different things going on. What is the building under construction?

Answers to some questions:

The 4-8-2 Mountain is an IHC Premier that was decorated for Western Pacific. I have since removed my home road decals and it is back to being a WP loco for now. I also de-weathered it some and when I get an airbrush will do the weathering with that and also make new decals.

The building under construction is the new Western Distribution Center for the John Deere Company. (See my railroad's history in my profile). On my future layout, there will be an existing JD warehouse and another JD complex under construction also.

Wow up_santefe, great night photos of your layout. I looked at my feet to make sure I wasn't on track as it rolled by. Very realistic. After I finish with some other stuff (that I've been working on for the last 2 decades) I will have to start lighting the pike for night operations. Very cool!
