new river mining

I have just purchased the Walthers New River Mining Company, and would like to know what is the easist way to paint the bars on windows? Unlike the Allied Rail Re-builders that have them seperate, the windows and bars are combined on the clear plastic.

If I understand the question properly, I would paint it this way ...

Take a small toothpick and dip it in the paint. Wipe it off so only a little is left. Press it on the plastic to paint a straight line. After a few trys, you will get the hang of it and know how much paint to leave on the toothpick.

Good Luck - Ed

I used an old fashioned ink drafting tool and India ink. It worked really well.

Try putting your paint on a new pencil eraser and dob it in that way.

I dry brushed them with a wide stiff brush. The brush was very stiff because there was lots of old paint dried on it.

The way I did my New River Mine was with a large flat permanent marker you have to go over it a couple of times but it's quick and easy and best of all looks good

I'd just take a piece of scotch tape and use a hobby knife to square the end. Mask off the area and paint. This provides the best results for me.
