Train, van collision sends 1 to hospital WebPosted Feb 22 2005 05:00 PM AST CBC News HALIFAX — One person was injured when a VIA passenger train collided with a minivan in Windsor Junction on Tuesday. The collision happened around 4 p.m. at a marked railway crossing where Fall River and Windsor Junction roads meet. Firefighters say they're not sure at this point whether the train hit the silver minivan or vice versa. Much of the damage to the minivan is in the rear section. It ended up in a ditch, taking out one of the poles with flashing red lights. The train did not derail. A woman inside the van was removed by an emergency crew and taken to hospital. Officials are at the scene trying to piece together what happened.
