BLI 2-10-4 Steam Locomotive

I picked up the new BLI C&O T-1 2-10-4 about a week ago, and am very impressed with it. Who else here has one of these steamers, and what are your impressions with it? Thanks in advance for your response.

I've been looking into the C&O T1. How does it run? Is the sound decent? Hopefully BLI eyes will be opened and soon they'll make a C&O class J-3-a Northern.[:)]

4884 bigboy.....The BLI C&O T-1 runs very well indeed, and the QSI sound system is superb, the best I have heard on an HO scale steamer. The steam chuffs, bell, pumps, brake squeal, and blowdown sounds are very good. The whistle is simply awesome, sounds for all the world like a real locomotive, and the doppler effect is great. if you get one, be shure to lube the rods, and valve gear bearings, prior to running as is outlined in the operarors manuel. the details are good, and it has the right look to it, if you get one, you won"t be disappointed.

Take care, and let us know if you get the T-1.

If the C&O is anything like the Pennsy J-1, it should be a real honey! Anything that can out-pull one of my Yellowstones is DEFINITELY worth having on the layout!

Nothing short of "I love it" even more than my 2-8-8-2 and 4-8-2
Sounds great, runs smooth, and looks great. The lighting is very carefully thought of on this one from the sign board to the holes in the fire grate. (No the fire grate is not open)

I even got it to run around an R18 (tried it on a whim) Do I recommend it...NOOOOOO. Gaurenteed to derail at some point, and the middle drivers hang right off! Even an R24 pushes the limits...you can see it slow down in the curves.

I own the J1 and it just is a BIG engine. My M1a actually does a better job on the smaller curves.
