That would eb a good question as to what era to put that monstrocity into. But, best guess would be the 1840-1870's era when strange experimentations occured.

Looks like the Grinch and his hapless mutt to me. That would put it early 1960s, as is evident by the middle driver falling off the rail and the Weather vane on the Pizza palour toppling over.

The cartoon rules. As funny as Jim Carrey is, there is no substitute for Boris reading the story, and they always have to add some non kids humor, or just bad taste. The original is kid safe, and my kids love it.

Chip, I have saved the picture and will show the kids in the morning, is it an actual working engine, if so is there more available?

That is what HO has to do to win the kids over. Hogwarts, Grinch, SpongeBob, Tinkerbell, make trains fun for the little ones.

Spongbob was easy - I saw a O scale Bikini Bottom module last December at the Edison "World's Greatest Hobby" show. I remember Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward figures, and Spongebob's Pineapple Hut and Patrick's rock (don't remember The Krusty Krab or Sandy's Texas-Dome, though). They just sort of ran the track through this scene, which was kinda 'eh'.
Now, what IS better is a Ntrack module by Matt Chibbaro, where the rail line crosses a bridge over a plastic water bay, and under this bay is Bikini Bottom with Spongebob and his friends (and their homes, nestled between the railbridge piers)
