Replacing the LED in an Athearn Light 2-8-2

Has anyone of you ever replaced the "greenish" LED in your Athearn Light Mikado with another LED - e.g. a golden-white? I just wondered if it could be done.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.

Replaced two of them; third one was fine out of the box. I can't remember for certain, and I'm not going to pop the boiler front to look right now, but it seems to me I shortened and bent the LED leads and soldered the old wiring leads to them to re-use the socket plugs.
What could have happened.... did.

Haven't changed out any yet, but future projrct is to do it on a Rivarossi Mike and Bachmann Consolidated and a Lima Pacific. They already have LEDs except the Pacific, so should be a piece of cake! Ken
