I HAVE ADDED 2 SCALE FEET IN HIGHT TO SOME OLD COAL HOPPERS TO HAUL WOOD CHIPS. WHAT WOULD MAKE A GOOD WOOD CHIP LOAD ? TRIED SAWDUST BUT IT JUST LOOKS LIKE SAWDUST

School type Pencil sharpener shavings should do it.

Several retailers market drop-in woodchip loads, you could probably re-size one of those to fit. Otherwise, try adding some dark-grain wood sawdust to your current sawdust (maybe redwood) as the variance in color could help create the desired effect.
