The solution, then, would be to get a better DC powerpack. The purpose of a DCC power booster is to amplify the DCC carrier signal, not simply to increase voltage. A heavy-duty DC powerpack can provide additional voltage for larger motors. But keep in mind that you're still limited to the voltage a motor can take.

The other good way to provide good power is by using sufficiently heavy-gauge wire to carry power, and by having lots of track feeders so you don't run into problems with power attenuation at the far end of your layout.

What objective are you trying to achieve with "more power"--pulling more cars, faster maximum speed, running multiple locomotives?

I suppose you could, the only snag being that you would proabably have to build your own box of tricks to attenuate the power to control speed and to reverse polarity to change direction. I would not think it is worth the bother as there are many good low cost DC controlers on the market,
