You may be too late for the Christmas closeout sales, looking for various sizes of trees.
The next solution is to make bumpy chenille trees. Go to a crafty store like Michael's and get some in different lenths & colors. You can dip them in paint or add some WS to vary the color. They do come in different sizes.
The largest trees use the furnace filter method. You could go to the cleaning section of your grocery store & find cellulose sponges to cut up. The furnace filters will be cellulose as well, so that you can cut them. The filters are cut into cubes & put on bamboo skewers. different sizes make different siz trees. Then you can paint them & trim them similar to the chenille trees above. Make both kinds in various sizes, and you will find some fill in places to cover your hilltop.
