[#welcome]Great to have you on board, Weez. I think you'll enjoy the forum, and as everyone else has said, if we can be of any help, just start posting. When I was your age, I was sitting on the floor of my living room surrounded by the Lionel Christmas layout that my dad got me, thinking "Wow, can it get any BETTER?" Well, yes it can. And it does. Enjoy the hobby, it's one for a lifetime.

Hi Weez and Ben!
Glad to have you guys aboard and [#welcome]
As with several others, I also started in the hobby when I was about your age. I also had two older brothers and my Dad that were interested and we all built a layout together. I've grown up, gotten married and now have kids about your age, and we are now at the point of beginning to build a layout together for all of us to enjoy. I encourage you both to try to get your parents to appreciate and hopefully share your interest in this hobby. It is a great hobby for the whole family, since there is something for everyone. As the others have said, feel free to come to the forum to ask your questions and just to say "Hi" to your fellow model railroaders.

Again [#welcome]

Welcome to the wonderful world of model railroading!

Big ideas start out as big dreams, and eventually lead to reality!
If you can dream it you can believe it!

I started out in the hobby when I was about your age, and I have never lost the desire to continue. Hope to see you in the forum often.

HI yourself!

And WELCOME!! [#welcome]

Hope you stick around and really get into this great hobby. It can last a life time. And we're here to help. [{(-_-)}]

By the way, I'm over 50 and still in the dreamin' stage myself. Don't get so old and sour on life you lose your dreams someday! Like me!!! (the old and sour part, not the dream part.) [|(]

Tell us about the kind of layout you want to build, what real railroad(s) you like to watch, etc. [:)]

Have you heard the saying Model Railroading Is FUN?...Well, we're here to tell ya IT'S TRUE! [:D]

So enjoy the hobby!!! [8D]

I'm currently working/consulting with a ten year old and he will be over here again Saturday for more ideas. He's really excited and Dad has a problem holding back his throttle.

We can save you time, expense, frustration, and mistakes that we have all made.
Us older guys just has to recognize youth and be a little more patient when responding
