Proto 2000 SD9 noise

I recently purchased two LL SD9 loco's.
Each is very noisy, and after lubricating ,checking gear assemblies, and trying to determine the cause, I am still stuck with the noise. It appears to be in the front truck gear box assemble. Running with out gear boxes, no noise. Noise is grating, and varies with speed and direction.
