need help with steam

I am looking for steam engine that smokes?
Primary use would be Christmas layout.
Looked at starter sets of pennsy in lionel and mth
does not need to have sound or dcc
Not sure how O guage would look next to Ho all my buildings are ho
cost
needs to be that I would not be heart broken if grandaughter derails it on the floor
Any Ho options

O guage is twice the size of HO... HO stands for Half O.

MTH Railking makes nice sets, about 250 for Track, Transformer, Loco with sound, smoke the whole deal, Either passenger or freight trains
