Tempting...I see old Southern Pacific MP15's crawling around Sacramento and Roseville, they're wonderfully chunky engines! They're also normally unspeakably filthy--even more so than the traditional SP bloody-nose engine. If I ever got one I'd probably cake on gobs of rust, grime, oil and dirt for realism's sake!

NightCrawler,

Where exactly on the Atlas forum was this? I couldn't locate anything. Is this something that you have to be a member of in order to read about it?

Basically, it was the successor to the SW1500. Here are some pictures of SP MP15s (same thing as a MP15DC).

Also, Athearn recently made a production run of its Blue Box SW1000s and SW1500s. I bought 2 SW1500s last week.

Just like to point out that Atlas is also planning on issuing the MP15DC in N scale.

the word is:

Atlas will be making an HO scale MP15DC. they have shown samples and they have pictures up on the HO scale forum at www.atlasrr.com

and the better word is:
Athearn is going to be making the MP15AC in the Genesis line. they announced it at the last show.

and for all of y'all who dont want switchers, Athearn has also announced SD45-2's in their Ready To Roll line.
