well when I first started out in this venture for my little boy I wanted to put the benchwork in the basement but the wife was not to keen on it so I have taked p over half of the pace in my sunroom for my 4X8 HO empire. I just finnished the trackwork and the BLI is off in Va. for some repairs. The wife come out and says that if I wanted to get rid of our massive computer table I can put the track downstairs. Now of course I do not want to just put the 4X8 in a space that is 7X12 just for the fact that I will have wasted a tone of space. Now the 4X8 benchwork was the first time I had ever built anything and although it is good I can see alot of mistakes and since the good wife haas given me the ok for the basement I want to do it perfect I am talking 2 levels, halix etc....

THe 4X8 id did 1 1/2 inch foam which I ripped out and just used the WS risers
but I think I will use it again and do the 2 " because I really wanted to do some canyons and bridgework

Anyway I have hollow wall to build onand I am thinking of picking up a benchwork book before I begin..Enjoy Joseph
