While I only knew Dave through video and online, I felt a kinship with him as we both modeled the same time and place in railroad history - which by any measure would be regarded as an "off the mainline" in terms of modelling preferences. I especially appreciated his research on Reading freight cars, which will be a guiding light for my roster development for years to come.

This was not unexpected, but another forum has reported that Dave Husman passed away earlier today.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Sad news indeed.
Our thoughts & prayers to Dave's family and friends.

I cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought
Most certainly sad news, and upon the heels of Ray Howard's passing. The thinning of our ranks is disconcerting. All the best to their family and friends. Regards, Peter
Just read on another site, that Dave is on life support and since he is an organ donor they are keeping him on life support until Monday when they will turn it off.

Rule 3: Illuminating discussion of prototype history, equipment and operating practices is always welcome, but in the event of visitor-perceived anacronisms, detail descrepancies or operating errors, consult RULE 1!

Just read a note from a friend of Dave's that reads as follows:
I'm sad to report that Dave Husman, member and trequent poster on this group, suftered a severe stroke on August 18.
He is currently hospitalized and has a poor outlook with some difficult decisions in store for his tamilv. I will provide updates when available.
Please keep Dave and the Husman family in your thoughts and prayers.
