John-NYBWThis delay was all on the manufacturer, not Trainworld. They have to wait for the manufacturers to deliver their products just like the rest of us.
I'm sure COVID created a pretty major wrinkle in the delivery schedule, as that affected a number of manufacturer's product releases. 6 years does seem a bit excessive though.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
HO-Velo Easy to loose track with some of today's pre-orders stretching out to two-plus years. Occurred to me the other day that at my age Mr. Brink might well have called upon me before some of these orders arrive. Not a comforting thought that my widow would have to deal with model railroad pre-orders after I've gone to where the 'woodbine twineth'. Regards, Peter

MisterBeasley Ha! He got the order! There's nothing to complain about. Everything I've ever ordered from Trainworld has been delivered quickly in good working order. Some items I've ordered on Wednesday even arrived the next day, NYC to the Boston Burbs.

My experiences with Trainworld have been the same as yours. Very prompt delivery. This delay was all on the manufacturer, not Trainworld. They have to wait for the manufacturers to deliver their products just like the rest of us.
tstage John, According to the Production Schedule webpage from the Atlas website... Announced: June 11, 2018 Orders taken: July 25, 2018 So you received your RS-3 6 years to-the-day from when Atlas began taking orders for them. That time span might make most of us forget that we ordered anything. Tom
John,

So you received your RS-3 6 years to-the-day from when Atlas began taking orders for them. That time span might make most of us forget that we ordered anything.
WOW! No wonder I didn't remember ordering it. 6 years is the longest lag time between announcement and delivery I can remember. It beats the previous record of 3 years between BLI's announcement of their Dreyfus Hudson and delivery. I wonder if others have had similar or even longer lag times.
Just to clear up one point, this was an RS-1, not an RS-3. I did order Bowser's Pennsy RS-3 when that became available. I'm not sure about that delivery date but I know they sold out their production run of that item fairly quickly. I can't remember for sure, but at most there was only about a month or two between announcement and delivery.
It is infuriating when pre-orders are put back and put back to dates in the future. I have one three years old now, though it appears I may receive it 'soon'.

So you received your RS-3 RS-1 6 years to-the-day from when Atlas began taking orders for them. That time span might make most of us forget that we ordered anything.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
No written confirmation of the pre-order?

Can u call them?
Can you not log into your Trainworld account and see when you placed the order?
This morning I went down to my mail box to pick up the mail that was delivered yesterday afternoon. I was surprised to see a package there and when I looked at the label, I saw it was from Trainworld. I didn't remember having ordered anything recently from them so I figured it must have been for an advanced order I placed. Still I had no idea what it might have been until I got back to the house and opened it up. It turned out to be an Atlas Classic Gold Pennsy RS-1 with DCC and Sound. Even after I saw what it was, I couldn't remember having placed the order so I have no idea how long ago it was. At my age (72), I often have bouts of CRS (Can't Remember.....uh.....Stuff). Assuming that this was an advanced order I placed a while back, does anyone know when this particular item might have been made available for advanced ordering?
