Actually is is a kitbash of two Pikestuff models. Instead of having a complex rotary dumper for my power plant, I am trying to replicate the unloading facility seen here in an aerial photo: http://community.webshots.com/photo/109373438/240794862uxkPpv

Nice looking shot, MAbruce. It shows off one of the great aspects of N scale...believable scenery in relation to the railroad itself. It really looks like a small mountain valley with rails laid through it.

Nice work everyone!

I recently took this shot (N-scale) of a pair of SD35's making their way through a mountain pass on my layout:

A little bit of shaving, a lot of semi-coarse filing followed by steel-wool rubbing on the sides. There are no maintenance doors on the RDMTs I've seen (other than two all the way to the rear) - the sides are smooth as a baby's bottom.

Since this is a Rail Power Products shell, the rear fans had been glued-on so I simply popped them off. I placed a thick piece of styrene underneath [on the inside], then filled-in the holes with Squadron putty. Wish I would've used something else, like J-B Weld 'steel' expoxy - the Squadron stuff shrinks too much. [That's what I get for being too lazy to drive out to Home Depot....[sigh]]

Reed,

Dave,

The mountain and tunnels are coming along very nicely.

Chip,

As usual, you are flying along at break neck speed, but you're starting to tail off. You're still 93 posts shy of 500, which you need to get done by midnight tonight. We don't tolerate slackers around here

Ken,

Very handsome paint job and detailing on your GP.

however...

Bob,

A FUSCIA 4-6-6-4?!? That's borderline sacrilege! (Sorry, that's a bit unfair. It IS a sacrilege!!) Bob, I assume your friend is a woman. Yes?...I hope?

Don't worry... she was an undecorated model to begin with. Not that I wouldn't trash a factory paint scheme!

It's late, but I got the lower level tuned and the cookies cut. The top level is just setting in place now. Still have to place the supports to even the grades. Then the cork bedding and track. Hopefully I'll get that done in the evenings. Then on to electrical next weekend. Then I have a lot of models and mountains and trees to make. Hogwarts Castle still looms heavy. Finally got a sense of scale. The front arch is about 24 feet tall.

I finially got some trees on the mountain. It will still need more down the right side
of the tunnel portals and along the creek. Dave

I spent my weekend painting and decalling an RDMT road slug (kitbashed from a RailPowerProducts GP35 shell) in the CSX 'bc' paint scheme.

I spent most of the day Saturday on wiring engines! The GP 9 below is an Athearn model with Ernst gearing, NWSL wheels, direct wiring, and some details parts. It's finished and runs almost as good as some P2K engines!

The second switch engine in this shot, the blue one, was completed today except for the shell. It's an Athearn SW 1000 with a newly installed Sagami can motor, NWSL wheels, and Ernst gears. I messed up on the motor installation and it sits a little to one side in the frame. It'll run fine as soon as the gears get broke in good. That's what the other switcher is for. It's got the exact same build (and rebuild) so it keeps the other one moving evenly.

Well that's my work for this week and weekend. Next week? I'll be just as surprised as you! [^]

By the way, all the other posts have prompted me to add my own photos. Thanks for the guidance and inspiration! [tup]

Good looking photos guys.[:D]

Here are a couple of buildings for the town site on the BRVRR. Both are DPM kits. On the left is Judy's Bar and Grill. At right is Michelle's Fashions. I've been working on the detailing and the construction of the sidewalks and curbs. Still have to install the signs, put in interiors or window displays and lighting. I have street lights too. Just not enough time.

Keep up the good work, everyone.[:D]

Remember its your railroad

Aggro:
I bought the filter material yesterday so your ears may be turning red next week.

Ever wonder what a pink Athearn Challenger would look like? I did this for a friend and then added my decals to it.

I'll post one here but, I don't think I can call this weeks "photo fun" as it took over 60 pics with different shutter speeds and apeture settings to get this one good shot of the new headlight instalation in my scratch built 132 ton engine. The headlight is a fibre optic powered by a bright white LED. The pictures still do not do this justice. The light is as crisp and clear white as any headlight I have ever seen on a prototype. For more info on how I did this instalation it is on page 4 of the GE 132 ton build under the how to link on my website.

Well, its time again. Showcase your pictures. Lets see what you guys got done this weekend!

13 skeletons down, 60 more to go! Its pretty time consuming to make them "good looking". I can't go quickly. I got 5 done while I was watching Alien vs Preadator.

I've got some serious "foliaging" to do to that back area. More conifers, bushes, details, etc. But its coming along. That depots not really suppose to be there. It just a mock up for another structure.
