NW3 Switcher
Posted by Bayway Terminal on Sunday, January 14, 2024 12:05 PM

After waiting close to a year the DP Imports NW3 arrived first week of January. The Mfgr is Ajin Precision Brass of South Korea. I orderd the engine in Anaconda Aluminun colors with a LOK Sound 5 decoder intalled & programed to my liking, in particular the 12 cylinder 567 prime mover sounds and motor speed control, which revs-up every 3 wheel steps from my NCE Power Cab. I'm very impressed with this switcher in terms of its super smooth low-speed operating ability, pulling power, notwithstanding its appearence, as i guess one should be for what it cost. The hand rail, lighted cab interior, the yellw-white head & rear lights seem to be Rule 17 programmed by the  Mfgr, as they both dim in neutral and brighten once in motion,  the number boards are also lite up, wheel trucks and front grill details together with the factory paint job are right on. At first I was a bit hesident to purchcase such a high-end switcher, although I do have a DP brass logging mallet with LOK Sound 5 and two speakers intsalled, one in the the engine and a bass speaker in the slope back tender, but the other 4 diesel switchers on my layout are all styrene plastic, and all have sound decoders. But once this NW3 arrived it has become a favorite, hard not to call it up for action. If anyone else out there has this new NW3 i would like to hear your comments on the engine. Please click on link to see. Thanks, BT NJ     https://i.imgur.com/RpC8HUU.jpeg

The linked picture is not the Anaconda NW3, I believe it's an SW1200.

Yes, I received the NW3 engine photo link you posted, not the Anaconda Aluminum S12 engine, sorry for the confisuion. Glad it s not an S12,as  i'm not crazy about the 251 prime mover sounds. The NW3 has ESU 567 prime mover recodings W a roots blower, its awsome! BT NJ
