Welcome

I dug deep into my wallet and bought the first-run 'exclusive' Metroliner four car set with the PRR Keystones applied to them. I remember riding the Metroliners when they were still new and today one is in a museum, I guess where I should be, too!

A while back I recall seeing some 3D prints of the clamshell end doors available on Shapeways. I'll have a look and try to find them. I'm not sure how well they work as far as clearances and curves?

Hello Metronorth Cool

Cool to see another Metroliner fan here!

Had not considered it but after seeing your post, checking out the feasability is a good idea. Was puzzled at first until it dawned on me that you were referring to the cab end with the clam shell door.

I was fortunate in purchasing one of the last 4-car Metroliner sets that Walthers had remaining in stock years back. DC version, but plan on adding DCC/Sound to them. I'm embarassed to say that they're still in their boxes (job and personal issues) but now am able to engage in "hobby time" again.

I'll take them out of their boxes and check them out thoroughly.

Has anyone out there experimented on using diaphragms to join two Walthers Metroliner married pairs?
