Just wanted to say THANK YOU to the moderators, Mr. Otte, and to Kalmbach for keeping this Forum going thru some difficult times.  I think some forget that it is a totally FREE site, and available to anyone - including non subscribers to any of the Kalmbach mags.

Again, thank you for the many years of "just being here"!

ENJOY  !

Thank you also to MR Forums.  I'm guessing it sometimes feels like a thankless job.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the Model Railroader staff for providing us with the forums. I have to confess that I was suffering some withdrawal symptoms when the site was having difficulties, but I think that just proves how much I enjoy it.

Thanks folks!

Cheers!!

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Yes, that's an important point. One model railroad manufacturer used to have a free forum, but dropped it several years ago. I used to frequent a forum sponsored by a major guitar manufacturer to chat about music. I quit when they changed it to a payers-only forum; last I checked (maybe 10 years ago) it was something like $25 a year. Kalmbach is to be commended for still offering a series of free forums!

I'm grateful, too. I would never even have been able to get my layout up and running without this forum.

Returning to model railroading after 40 years and taking unconscionable liberties with the SP&S, Northern Pacific and Great Northern roads in the '40s and '50s.

Here here!

Nice to write thanks to all who make this forum possible.  This is a great resource for help and just getting us through some very difficult times.

For those who remember the hit-show "Cheers" this forum seems like an extension of the show.  Pull up a chair and have a cold one (beer, ice tea, prune juice, etc.) on me to those who help others out.

I agree with the nice comments on MR's staff.

However - just curious - but where does a "pay" forum actually exist specifically for model railroading? I must be ignorant of its/their existence.
