Good morning from cloudy,cool,and rainy Northeast Ohio!
Another slow week, still recovering from the cold I got the previous week, so a lot of time just sitting with a blanket to keep warm,but I did manage to get one car done this week.
Finished a Stewart 14 panel hopper car, painted with Scalecoat II Black paint and lettered with some decals that Brian Banna had made for his NYC hoppers, he gave me permission to purchase from his decal supplier and I thank him profusely, they are great decals with all the things that shout out NYC.
A pair of Intermountain Railway Company F3's with a general freight running on the Strongsville club layout.

Myself. A purchase of two Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway gunpowder vans for my L&YR themed steam railway. A North British Railway gunpowder van had to be purchased as well.

Yes Simon. They carried gunpowder to military establishments, mines and quarries.
They were run in ordinary goods trains, usually with other freight wagons in front and rear.

As said in the other thread David, sure do like those wagon cars. As seen in the past, ya have many more, and have always liked that sinister looking crane car of yours.
Like the scene Simon, and especially those rocks you did. As for your Shay, I've always admired the cosmetics of those low geared machines
Okay, some old stuff from the archives.
Out of all the scratches, the favorite one to build was the prairie grain elevator.
It was realized to far along in the project, the floor grate and access door to the inside was forgotten.
So they were added late, but the grate was not able to be recessed, and the door had to be a slider, by only being able to barely reach in there. Just like in construction to modeling, "Hindsight is the best Sight".
Not the best job in town, but always a learning experience for the next time round.

Kirkstall Forge in Leeds were commissioned to build a railgun in 1914, the KF1. I built a representation of it. The model is a heavy so and so. Here it is 'heading to the coast' with a 2.6.2 locomotive hauling it.

Among other things I continued work on some of the first-run Walthers 1948 Century cars. For most of them I completely disassemble the car. This allows me to remove the 'tack-cemented' window glazing so that I can shoot a gloss finish on the cars prior to and after applying the car name decal.

Along with painting the interiors I need to at least stuff enough people in the seats to make the train look populated. This required taking a few hours aside to paint some LPPs:

Painted figures are really getting scarce and if you do find them the average cost is around $5/head!

Then I add window shades or blinds, handrails along the aisle windows (I found a source for stainless steel wire so I don't have to 'chrome' the bronze Tichy wire) and finally some 'flicker-free' LED lighting. Then finally drilling holes and adding the grab irons.

I havent taken pics. nothintg to see really. I did order the pyle steam generator for the shy. put couplers on it. also fixed that cracked u joint piece. I put a copper sleave over it figuring getting a "new" part, that one might split too. so why not fix what I already have if i can. the operation was a sucess. the motor drives the drive line propperly now. now to get the motor lined up propperly. and fix the bevl gear so they work, and the elctrical. this is the shay that i did a post on. I found a motor for the B-1 rat. about as far as I got with that one.
This is the fat rat. a mish mosh of parts. s3d print boxcab scaled up from an N scale unit. I added gg1 power truck and pilots off a donor Rivarossi one. Today it got the decks over the pilots for the porches. Lots more to do yet.
