I don't know the names of the different typs of foam.

It is closed cell polyethylene foam. Different weights have different firmness.

Some craft stores and sewing fabric stores have for making seat cushions and such.

Good Luck, Ed

If you have a table saw you can make all the strips you want out of extruded foam.

Good luck,

I seem to remember reading long ago that the foam strips can be replicated with material from a furniture upholstery shop.

As for the thin plastic material, the thin rolled plastic wrap that can be found in the moving section at a certain big box store seems to be a good replacement IMHO.

Foam inserts for Athearn Blue Box freight cars. Grayish black 1" x 3/4" foam strips, I don't know how to look this up? I don't know the names of the different typs of foam. Also does anyone what the soft, transparent, thin, flexible material is called that is rapped around Locos & high class rolling stock? Thanks
