Wondering if anyone here has built the Martinsburg Coal Mine kit and could tell me the dimensions of the individual structures - shaft house and hoist house. I'm considering picking one up but I'd need to make some modifications to the orientation of the structures and fit them on a pretty narrow area.
The kit has dimensions, but there is a separate power building. I would contact American Model Builders. laserkit@sbcglobal.net and post the answer.

Walthers shows the dimensions as 10 inches long, 9 inches wide and 5 inches tall.
Heard back from AMB:"The Hoist House is about 5.5" long x 2.5" wide and the Shaft House with the external angled head frame supports and extended loading chute is about 6.5 " deep x 2.25" wide. The Tailings trestle, depending on how you build it, will extend out the side door and add another 4.5" to the overall width of the Shaft House."
You got me interested in the mine kit. How are tailings dumped from the trestle?
Looks like a 2' gauge track, either for a handcart.
On my prototype the carts were moved by hand, or later by electric mule as that became more common, but it wasn't a coal mining operation so it may be different. The shaft house is very similar in form to many mass copper mines though, hence my interest in the kit
