Exactly, ya got that straight Dick. It doesn't seem that leaders are held accountable for anything anymore, ...from a simple coach of a small scale sports team, to a much bigger scale in today's world.
What you said reminds me of that good old classic movie Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi had nothing but integrity and honor in his teachings. In comparison to the other coach, ...there was no comparison.

Track fiddlerMy Grandson was seriously hurt unnecessarily at his college football game. It was ruled unsportsman like conduct, as the player that tackled him was already known for this, and suspended from the game.
Since it appears that this is a bad habit, exactly what penalty was assessed upon the coach that allows it?
I love watching football. I was thin and kind of under-muscled when I was younger, so it wasn't the game for me. But, I must admit that if I had a son, he wouldn't play the game. There are just too many chances to get hurt. In her years of playing lacrosse, swimming and skiing for high school, the worst my daughter had was a sprained ankle that sidelined her for a couple of weeks.
I got hit with a puck playing goal back in the days of the old Gerry Cheevers masks, but that was my only hockey injury in 50 years on the ice. I tore a rotator cuff skiing, but those were my only take-time-off injuries in many years of what can be rough sports.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Good morning everyone. Chloe, this morning I would like to have a strawberry pastry with lots of sweet icing on top. Thank you.
At the wargmaing convention I made a few purchases, quite a few actually. I found some great bargains, a great price on a classic board game, and some hard to find old-school Orks.

One afternoon, me and a few buddies drove into Orlando for a feast at my favorite Brazillian Steak House.
It was a great time.
Track fiddlerIt's the risk you got to take playing football. The guy that brought him down, did a gator roll. He knew exactly what he was doing.
My nephew plays football for Western Michigan. We worry about him all the time.

Good morning
We went for another picnic off the lake yesterday. Judy's been wanting to try this new soup and sandwich place called Bo Diddley's. The chicken wild rice soup was really good I'll be back.
It was kinda nice not having to grill for once, even though grilling is part of the fun.
Thanks for the well wishes Dave, I'd have to agree with you. This player was already know for being a poor sport, for things like talking smack, frequent late hits, and what may have you. The gater roll was deliberate.
Your absolutely correct, someone unsporting like that shouldn't be allowed to play football.
Last day off here and Judy's trying to decide what we're gonna do. One of her guests at the hotel gave her a new coffee maker, he only used once for a tip. It's the one you push down on the little cup. This coffee is really good. The only problem is ya gotta buy those spendy little cups
Enjoy your Saturday gentleman
Good morning, everyone. Time for the best meal of the day -- bacon and eggs.
TF, that sounds like a rough time for your grandson. I hope he will have a recovery that will amaze even his doctors. Tell him there are some friends online who are praying for him.
It's the last day of September, and also the last day of painting (I hope). I've one wall left to finish, and some work on the the back garage door. Years ago, I converted our garage into a drive through by installing a garage door on the back. I can drive my truck through the garage into the back yard. It was one of the best things I did, but it also means more upkeep on another garage door.
Thankfully, we are having great weather for painting and for all the harvesting going on. The combines are all out in the fields bringing in a bumper crop. The BNSF hopper cars will be getting a big workout this year.
It will be nice to head to the beautiful state of Oregon. I have some relatives living there. They have some interesting things to say about their state lately!
I hope everyone has a great last day of September. It's a good day for watching college football.

Hi TF,
I'm very sorry to hear about Anthony's injury. I hope he is able to make a full recovery.
If the offending individual was already known for poor conduct he should never have been allowed into the game. In fact, he should be removed from the sport entirely! It's no longer a sport when people are being deliberately seriously injured.
Wish Anthony well for us!
Cheers!!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Great looking pizza Henry, and I'm always up for those. Our best pizza here is Broadway, or Delano's

My Grandson just had an ACL surgery done today. A lot of torn cartilage loss. Six months on crutches, and no weight on the leg.
Apparently the rules have changed since I've had multiple surgeries on my ACL injured knee. My surgeon wanted me to walk on it right away.
He's young and I'm sure he will bounce back. We're all wishing him the very best, but my Judy has been a bit hysterical.
He'll be fine. Remember Anthony in your thoughts and best wishes tonight if you will please.

Henry, that's a pretty amazing pizza oven. The stone work is impressive. I think I'd wait until the weather cools down before standing in front of that oven watching the pizza cook.
Henry, a good pizza oven sure can make all the difference. That looks like quite a project.
I wish I could join you for some.
Pizza anyone? We were invited to a pizza party. The host, now a retired dentist, built this with $30 plans from a guy in Canada. I should have gotten a better pic of the front, but there is fire brick and field stone. That is Mrs Big Daddy waiting for her pizza.

Track fiddlerSomeone ran a 20 amp circuit with the dishwasher, all the lights in the place, the recepticals in the bedroom and a receptical over the bathroom sink that was the tail end of it. And all with a mix of 12 and 14 gauge wire.
I am spending the day building contingency routes for an upcoming trip. Some of my riding buddies and I have a national parks trip (Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Natural Bridges National Monument) on the calendar for next week. We have had it scheduled for about six months. Now we have no idea which parks, if any will be open next week. We will still ride but our route and activities might be significantly impacted.

Oregon sounds good to me, Kevin and Dave. I've always liked that whole area out west. We were thinking of moving out to the Twin Falls, Idaho area at one time. The waters appear green out there, like alot of the other western states.
Was replacing all the worn out recepticals and switches yesterday. I've come across some interesting stuff in my time, but this one was a doozy.

Lovely, I'd hate to be the guy shaving, while the wife accidentally knocked her hair dryer in the sink reaching for her mascara. That potential load shock could most likely kill ya.
That circuit gets a 15 amp breaker, the dishwasher switched to another circuit, and a GFI over the sink would be good
It's storming up here. Where was all this rain we've been getting, back when all the farmers needed it? Think I'll go revisit the rack for awhile and see what happens. These thunder storms can be some really good sleeping weather sometimes.
Have a great day gentlemen
SeeYou190OK... if no one else volunteers to move the diner... I will hook it up and drag it to Oregon!
Sounds good to me!
Edit:
Top of the page! It is Fall and that means that we need some good comfort food. How about beef bourguignon?!? Dianne and I are going to a cottage with three other couples in mid October. We are all foodies so we have to come up with something that sounds (and hopefully tastes) exotic. We will make enough for everybody. We just hope that it will turn out as well as Julia Child's original recipe.
hon30critterWhy don't you think that you are any good at it?!? You have done a great job in the past. Just keep doing what you have been doing!

Hi Kevin,
That sounds good to me! I love the west coast. If I was able to move anywhere that I wanted, it would be to British Columbia.
SeeYou190I can move the Diner again, but I am not sure I am very good at it.

York1She did a great job painting!
Didn't she! I love the flower garden along the bottom. Daughters do the cutest things.
I have my new computer up and running.
This thing is a beast. 32GB of RAM and a 2TB solid state hard drive. It has some crazy Intel processor.
Photo editing is instantaneous. It was worth every penny.
I still need to get iTunes up and running, but other than that, everything has been transferred over succesfully from the old workhorse.
My previous computer was over ten years old. I sure got my money's worth out of that one.
I also bought a new "brown switch mechanical keyboard" for it. That is really a wonderful piece of equipment. It has the tactile feel of an old IBM electric typewriter, and I feel right at home typing on it. It is so much more comfortable than those flat keys, and it even has a nice clickity-click as I type.
Done with the haul for the weekend. Eat, sleep, lather rinse repeat...
Two Green Machine's trailed by green boxes, plus a Sky Blue Great Northern in the lead. What could be more better over a bridge?

Another one for the Ohio Kid
Always appreciated
The end of the month has snuck up on me. There is only a day and a half left!
Where should we take the Diner and who would like to move it?
Good afternoon. It's lunch break, so I'll have bacon and eggs for lunch. And coffee. The diner, like all good restaurants, serves breakfast all day.
Mike, I know what you mean about car lights. I had a car that it was nearly impossible to change the tail lights.
Kevin, that's a great story about your friend and his daughter. Kids grow up faster than you think. She did a great job painting!
We're taking a friend to a doctor's appt. in the city, so the afternoon is painting-free. I can't say I'll miss it.
It would have been fun to ride the platform on the back of this train. People sure dressed up to go back to nature in those days.
Have a great day, everyone.

Good morning everyone. Chloe, I want a bowl of oatmeal with a teaspoon of sesame seeds mixed in. Thanks.
At the wargaming convention I saw my good friend Tomas again. He is a very talented painter, and I have posted some examples of buildings he has painted for me in Show Me Something from time-to-time.
He had his daughter with him. It has been five years since we had seen her, and she is so grown up now. It seems like just yesterday she was born!
Tomas used to come to my house and play wargames, and my wife and youngest daughter would play with his daughter. She was the best baby and sweetest little girl.
My wife made a rule that Tomas could only come over and game if he brought his daughter with him. She adored that kid.
It was so cute the way she hangs out with her dad and makes fun of him when things go wrong on the battlefield. I remember my babies doing that with me.I really miss that.
I sent a picture of her to my youngest in Washington. She couldn't believe how big she has become. She said it was the first time she realized how quickly time goes by.
She is painting miniatures now too. I remember my kids doing things like this to my models.
I think this is wonderful.
Tomas said he is so afraid of her growing up any more. He already knows all this is on an expiring time line, and she will be off doing her own thing very soon.
I met Tomas when he was 15. My middle daughter was the same age as his daughter is now when we met.
Good Morning Diners. Zoe, coffee and a blueberry muffin please. Quiet in here lately.
Spent the evening changing out the headlight assemblies on my youngest daughter's civic. What a PITA. You have to take the whole front of the car apart. I've replaced my share of headlight assemblies in my time, and this required more disassembly than any of the others I've done.
Headlights by Michael, on Flickr
Looked good when I got them done though!
In taking it apart, I found that someone else has had the front of this car apart before as a number of the push clips were missing and two of the very few bolts you have to take out to do the job had been replaced. I have a lifetime supply of the push clips on order from eBay now. As long as I have kids/nephews/etc rolling in older cars, I'll hang onto the surplus. Never know when you'll need them.
Mike
I fixed the spelling of JEFFREY in the Diner title. I will fix the RIP Track graphic by next month.
Good morning everyone. It is good to be back. Chloe, please bring me a big stack of buckwheat pancakes and a large cup of black coffee.
After five days of wargaming I am having a hard time getting started on the drywall finishing again... I need to get motivated and get to it.

It is an excellent visit. As John said, you can really get a fell for the events the way that the battlefield is preserved and presented.

Mike,
Flash from the past: worked one summer in a deli down in Jackson (MI). Owner showed me a trick on putting up a BLT quickly, particularly after the grill had been turned off toward the end of the day. As the deep fryer was still hot, you could drop your bacon in it and it was done in less than 30 seconds. Tasted the same as I recall. Of course you had to do this by placing your body between the goings-on and the customer - no reason to have them raise their eyebrows over what was about to be put on their plate. .
Surely, Brunhilda won't mind if she catches us behind the counter . . .
John (the Attuvian)
Good morning. Chloe, I need black coffee. A lot of black coffee, please.
I'm taking a coffee break from painting. I got a lot done yesterday, and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel -- assuming I don't fall off the ladder and spend time in the emergency room.
One good thing -- we are having perfect weather. A high in the 70s, dry, and clear. Great weather to accomplish outdoor tasks before winter.
I hope everyone can check in. We are missing some diner regulars.
