no such thing is made for athearn or proto2000.   Bullfrog snot is your only option.    That is a really heavy incline if they struggle.

Which DC wheels have grooves for traction tires?

Hi all, this is my first post!

I'm a model railroader from Finland and I am running Märklin AC digital system. I have been converting Athearn and Proto 2000 DC locos to work with the three rail system with excelent results.

However on my home layout I have quite harsh inclines and I need more traction.

All my locos are equiped with this Walthers/Athearn/Proto wheel set: https://www.walthers.com/replacement-geared-diesel-wheelsets-fits-early-proto-2000-r-e6-7-8-9-pkg-3

S
o my question is, are there any compatible DC wheels that has got a groove for a traction tire to be installed? I guess the wheel needs to be of same diameter and with same axle diameter also.

I have a bottle of Bullfrog snot coming in from the States though, but I'd rather do traction tires if I could just find wheels with the grooves.

Best regards,

Eino
