I am sorely tempted, but the asking price just seems to be too high. To put it into perspective, I can get 3 BLI sound loco's for that price with a bit of shopping around.

I agree that the price is steep, but this is a very limited appeal item, and I suspect the 'street price' will be around $250. IIRC, the unit will be 'DCC Ready'. As far as the old MR kitbashing articles, that was not even close - the Zephyr cars were not as tall(look at the lack of 'letterboard'). I am sure the 'Q' buff's will buy up this one(and maybe some B&M modelers will be kitbashing a 'Flying Yankee').

Limited run. 2,000 units. Reservations at www.chicagoland-hobby.com for $290.00 Unless another manufacturer comes along(BLI) I wouldn't be surprised to see them rise to a premium

I might buy two or three. If I can find them around $100.00 Then I will do with them as I do with all my trains. Run it to pieces, rebuild it, and do it again.

Only carries a 30 warranty & for a new product. That's a risk that I will not invest in.

No DCC? No sound? And a $379.00 price tag? Limited run mentality run amuck! Search MR's magazine database and read how to kitba***his item for a whole lot less.
