that there doesn't seem to be any private messaging instruction or link in someone's profile to contact them that way.... would be a useful feature.

Chuck, that feature used to be, before all the "changes" started happening a couple, or more, years ago.

You could click on an avatar, and go to their profile, and from there you could "Start a conversation", and send a personal message.

That all started to unravel, and now it's pretty much non-excisting, as the features of this forum come apart.

Thanks, all, for suggestions.....

Wayne ultimately did reply, today, to my post. Guess he either saw this thread or the post with my question. I agree with "kasskaboosel" that there doesn't seem to be any private messaging instruction or link in someone's profile to contact them that way.... would be a useful feature.

kasskaboose
You also can click on their profile and leave them a private message

That feature hasn't worked in here for a long time.  For a while, some could and some couldn't, now it's trashed.

You also can click on their profile and leave them a private message.  This way they see it when connecting.  Another option is leaving a post for them to contact you in the public forum(s).

I don't know if you can edit the title of the thread, but Doc Wayne is very much still present and checks in most days.

Thanks for suggestions. Think I'll try Henry's first.

So....doctorwayne, if you see this hand waving to you, I have a question re your post of 7/3/21 about "Tichy's Water Column Question". You can see my question in that thread.

     Thanks,

The way I do it is to see if the person is a member of another MRR forum where the private messaging service works. A lot of the people on this forum are active on others as well.

Good Luck.

You could click on his avatar and see if he listed an email addy is his profile.

You could change the title of this thread to Question for (his name).  Someone on the forum may have be in contact with him.  There is a moderate amount of turnover and he may have come and gone.

I realize this question isn't specific to a modeling topic, but it is related to one. I have a question concerning a post made by a member nearly two years ago. Although I did post the question as a reply to his post, the chance of him seeing it at this late date is remote.

Is there a way of messaging a member whereby he is sure to see it? This member's profile doesn't give any info about such messaging. I've reached out to Steve Otte, the forum administrator, but have not had a reply.

       Thanks,

          Chuck
