Hi, I am looking for a specific Floquil paint, R168, or RR168, UP Light Orange. Does anyone have an extra for sale? Or a clor swatch would really be helpful as well.
Speaking of which, does anyone know of a good location for vintage Floquil swatches?

I have two bottles of Floquil UP Light Orange, as shown below...
...the one on the left is Floquil U.P. Light Orange, mixed with Floquil CNR Orange, while the one on the right is an unopened bottle of U.P. Light Orange
This view shows the mixed bottle well shaken, and the un-mixed U.P. Light Orange not yet shaken...
...and this is the both bottles well-shaken (in excess of 60 seconds), with the unopened U.P. Light Orange at right...
I'd be glad to give you the unopened bottle of U.P. Light Orange for the cost of shipping it to you. I'm in Canada, so the shipping may cost more than you expect, but I'm certainly not looking to rip you off. It's been a while since I've done such sharing, but I'll obviously need your mailing address, and will include my mailing info on the package. I will also provide a tracking number for the paint.

There was a guy who had Floquil paint at Timonium, pre covid. A lot of them were not like Wayne's. They were completely dried up. You can find Floquil swatch pics with google, but you are dependent on color reproduction of the photo.

I will definitely try some of the suggestions here. Although, I did try Narrow Gauge, but he only had 110 part numbers.

I recently sold quite a few jars of Floquil, mostly unused but some partial lots. I was surprised at how quickly they sold, and noticed many more auctions/buy in nows on Ebay.

Well Floquil made really good paint ,I was very partial to Grimy Black (which was more of a dark gray) for my older locos.Plus it was very durable and I painted my MDC two truck Shay Grimy Black and it has held up well since I built it in 1984.

Somewhere along the way they could have just changed the numbering. Walthers used to list Floquil in their catalog. Possibly someone with a very old catalog collection can figure out when the change was made.

No, there is no difference.
Just like there is no difference in vallejo colors 992 and 70992.
It is just a numbering change, and a pretty simple one to figure out.

To my understanding, yes, there were differences. The R and RR jars were xylene based, while the 110 jars were enamel based.The hues changed from bottle to bottle within same generations, and, definitely changed from R or RR to 110 and beyond. I may still takedoctorwayne up on his offer to test it out. Thanks all for your input and I appreciate any future help!

Anyway I tried various versions and came up with a house painting website.
They apparently sell all kinds of paint but claim to be able to match Floquil.
