Ed, hope your prostate photo turns out ok. I had one of those photos before my surgery as it was enlarged. My urologist put me on drugs to get it down in size so he could get it out more easily. Largely solved my getting up at night too but that is an extreme solution. Got rid of the cancer too.
Just back from a grocery pickup. The car doesn't stall and starts right up even though it sounds as if it is running on 5 cylinders at idle.
Tea is brewing. A nice cup of Yorkshire Gold.
Wife may go to dentist for a checkup on Thursday but she is beside herself with fear from covid.

The snow is gone, so that means ... yes, more snow is predicted for tomorrow night into Thursday. Back in November, it was kind of fun to see the first snow falling. Now, not so much.
On the Wordle front, I lost my longest streak the other day. I had "_i_ty". My last attempt I guessed "sixty" instead of "fifty". Lately, I have been thinking of giving it up -- some days it feels a little like work. I probably should give Wordle a rest for a while.

Good morning everyone, I can only sit a minute, I am starting to install trim pieces on the soffit today.
up831That garage looks like it might be a nice structure to model. It's charismatic. It looks to be about 60ft +/- and I would suppose an automobile length plus about 8 to 10 ft in depth, nice size for an HO business. It kinda reminds me of some of the 50's Plasticville buildings like the dime store, the general store, etc. only with a lot more character.
I thought the same thing when I photographed it. The building looked like it was from Pasticville.

All the windows in my house finally just have white blinds that are recessed into the window cavity. This is much easier. We are done with curtains.

I hate expensive sheets. They always feel slick and uncomfortable to me.
I prefer basic white all-cotton sheets that don't even put the thread count on the package. I also like them best new, so I would replace them every month.
My wife prefers the expensive sheets... oh well.

Finally have a complete day off today, and I'm going to run down to Scale Model Supply in St Paul to pick up three Micro Engineering, girder plate, deck bridge kits. I'm throwing in the towel on the scratch built ones. Also just found out they have N scale raised rivet decals for truss bridge, gusset plate detail. Those ought to be interesting......

My daughter is 32 now, so she was born before the gender reveal fad, but after amniocentesis was an accepted add-on for older parent births. So, we knew right away, mostly because my ex wanted to know what color to paint the baby room. The amniocentesis was a bit freaky, because we were away that day, pre cell phones, and got a message to call back about the results. This was a Friday late, so we were left wondering. Fortunately, they called back to say everything is fine, nothing to worry about.

A warm day expected here, about 32F but it is cloudy,
Started the car on Sat. and it was missing. Didn't stop doing so even after it warmed up. I have it scheduled for a visit to the dealer on Friday. I asked for a loaner and they said 'sure'. Not bad considering my car is a 2010. Expect it is a fuel system issue or perhaps a coil. Anyway the engine light is on so needs to be hooked up to their computer. Whatever it is I expect a large bill. Oh well, it has been a very good car. I guess its age is catching up. I need the rear brakes replaced so will get that done too.
John, my wife never gets up before noon but 3a.m. is an early night for her.
Wonder how Ken is doing. I miss his posts but it seems he has abandoned the Diner for good.
Haven't heard from Batman lately.
I had hoped to get the last of my N scale stuff to the LHS this week but that will have to wait until the car is fixed.
Nothing much new here. My no contact life is very boring.

Kevin: I sleep with my lawn service. We bought a lawn tractor to mow our 1.25 acres; my wife loves to mow on that thing. I still have to weed eat, which takes longer than the mowing does. She has several neighbors that advise her to keep the lawn looking good.
Tornado sirens went off last night around 6:00. We had been watching the storm develop on tv; knew we weren't in any danger, but we went to the basement anyway. There was one tornado south of town, and several north. We had actually cleaned out one stall of the garage to fit our SUV in to avoid hail. Our pickup would not fit in the garage, regardless as it is too long. No hail, straight line winds of 50 mph. We have had worse. In the year and a half we have been here, only the second time the sirens have gone off. I hope that last night was not a preview of what is to come this year.

In North America having gender reveal parties has become the norm, but I'm in agreement with you that I would rather wait until the baby has been born in order to find out the gender. I guess what really matters is that the baby be healthy.
I do have to say that the reveal party was lots of fun! The Power Ranger skit was really well done. We got to see a bunch of Cole and Kaitlins' friends that we hadn't seen for a long time, and all had a good time.

The trouble with the rain is that the ground is still frozen and the water all runs off before it can get into the soil.

I looked back through the January Diner but I could only find the theme we have used for February, so we are open to suggestions.
I like the ideal of doing different kinds of rolling stock. It would be fun to see some of the rarer brass creations, both locomotives and cars.
What does everyone think?
I will move the Diner unless someone else would like to do it.

Good morning everyone. It is going to be another warm day down here, but the high is only expected to be 82, so we are getting some relief. The highs should stay in the low 80s for the rest of the week.
I am buying the trim for the soffit project today. I ran out of angle brackets, and they won't arrive for a week. I have about 40 feet of soffit left to install, but I will start on trim for now. So many supplies are still hard to get.
At least lumber is plentiful again.

That sounds like a great gender reveal. Almost everyone in Florida does it with fireworks. The fireworks suppliers have some very interesting options, some of which are simply amazing and creative.
Too many Floridians try to go off the scale with the fireworks and add too much, then Florida Man makes the news again.
Attuvian1Alright, guys, put your thinking caps on and propose ways of doing a gender reveal using your model railroad - well, maybe somebody else's.
My friend Danny used his Garden Railroad for his gender reveal. He loaded a train with boy's toys and backed it into a tunnel.
Of course, he and his wife already knew at that point.
York1Kevin, the red beans looked great. I love making red beans. That's a Monday food in New Orleans, and generally anything left in the refrigerator goes into the pot.
I lived in Slaughter, Louisiana (outside of Baton Rouge) for a year in 1981-1982. The exposure I had to food changed my life. I am sure I will never be able to make Red Beans & Rice like I experienced there.
