I am small-time compared to a lot of the guys around here but here are my favourites. Two Hudsons and a 4-4-0.

The 4-4-0 has logged the most time by far as I just let this train ply the layout when I am working on it. I just have to remember it comes by every six minutes or so. Sometimes it just runs all day long.

I hope to get my Tyco model train rebuild doing laps on the layout someday.

bmtrainmaster
a few of your favorite model trains.

The RS-3 leading the short train over the bridge actually represents a breach of my '50s theme, as the SP&S' "broadstripe" yellow livery didn't exist until about 1965. Nevertheless, it is one of my absolute favorite engines. It's a yellow-box Atlas Kato, and it's so quiet you can forget it's running. Picked it up for $20 at a swap meet and it's my very best runner.

The train rounding the turn underneath also has some of my favorites in it. The Northern Pacific Mehano Connie was another swap meet find -- $38 -- and while it is definitely a foobie, it runs well and I like the look of it, especially pulling the two cars directly behind it -- my father's wood-model Great Northern express reefer (Varney?) and his Pennsy baggage car.

Actually, never mind... all my trains are my favorites.

Returning to model railroading after 40 years and taking unconscionable liberties with the SP&S, Northern Pacific and Great Northern roads in the '40s and '50s.
