For my fellow NP modelers out there: Do anyone know of a guide, jig or similar that can be used to paint the long hood end of the GP18? It will be used for an NP-inspired protolance engine. I can scale it as needed but I would prefer HO. Thank you for any assistance that can be provided.
When I need a mask for a curved decal pattern I photocopy the decal onto heavy cardstock. Then I make a template of the curve cut into the cardstock following the decal line. Then I use the template to cut the masking paper.
I have used prototype decals to make a few freelanced paint schemes this way.
If there is not a decal along the color seperation line, find a set of decals with a similar curve and use it to make the masking tape template.

Unfortunately, the only decals I have even seen for NP schemes just have the read stripes with the 90 degree corners as appropriate. Idea in general makes sense.
