Minuteman Scale Models?
Posted by garyla on Thursday, December 8, 2022 4:42 PM

Anybody had contact lately with this New Hampshire-based distributor of Scalecoat paint?

If I ever met a train I didn't like, I can't remember when it happened!

Rumor has it he has or will close. They are not listed as a vendor for the Amherst show for what it's worth

As a courtesy, the onwer (Shawn) should post something.  Would be saddening to lose Scale Coat paint products.

If there is ANYTHING you need, even Kadee Couplers, to finish you projects and layout, BUY YOUR LIFETIME SUPPLY NOW!

I lost out by assuming Model Master Military Colours would always be available, and now I cannot finish painting my German 15mm Armoured Company.

Scalecoat was already saved once. It has been on thin ice for a long while.

I hope that is enough.

Hi Kevin,

Hopefully the situation is not "crunch-dire" for the hobby yet. According to "second hand" info, one of the hard issues for MinuteMan is the shortage of the paint bottles, which (unfortunately) are imported and the overseas manufacturer allegedly has a huge backlog of orders.

I hope that this is actually the case rather than MinuteMan going out of business.

I had been thinking that, perhaps, due to pressure from environmental groups for everyone to switch to waterbased paint products, that might have been an issue for Minuteman.  Just thinking behind the keyboard.Wink
