Does anybody know where I can get Ho Scale ice hockey players painted or unpainted? I have searched everywhere I can think of on the internet but I haven't been able to find them yet. I'm just starting out learning to build a train layout and I think adding some hockey players would be a fun addition.
Thanks

to the Model Railroader magazine discussion forums. We are very glad that you have found us. Your first few posts will be delayed by the Kalmbach Media moderators, but that ends soon enough, usually after just a few posts. Please stick around through the delay and become a permanent part of the discussions.
I looked about, and did not find any.
Looking at pictures of Hockey Players, it seems that there is nothing else that would make an easy conversion. Scultping all that equipment looks like a difficult project for an entire team or two.
Sorry I could not help. Good luck with the search.

Living the dream.
When I was a kid, there was an outdoor hockey rink right up against the PGE main line in Prince George. It was regulation size with boards and had one light at centre ice on a post nailed to the boards. We would play until late at night and the trains would come out of the fog like a monster coming to play. I always wanted to model that memory.
HO scale hockey players do come along every once in a while, you just need to grab them when you see them. I think Shapeways make them, but for what you would pay, it would be cheaper to buy your own 3D printer.
Just Google HO scale hockey players and sometimes they show up under the Ebay banner from companies in China. I have bought quite a few things from China and 11 days seems to be a normal delivery standard.
I follow a few 3D printing groups on Facebook, I would bet some of them have done hockey players. Some offer up files for free so you can print your own. My daughter's University has 3D printers in the library that she uses. They pay by the weight of the finished print. I doubt HO hockey players would add up to much.

Something for our Canadian friends to create?
I have been thinking of adding an arena or event center to a layout as a hockey venue. I wouldn't needed hockey players per se since the games would be indoors. If your are doing a pond hockey scene or pick up game, you wouldn't need a whole bunch of players.
Our arena here is about 100 yards from the BNSF track.
