I.m going to be obtuse, but here goes. The Union Station car sides are already skirted. Why not buy the kit and graft it onto the Walthers car? That would seem easier than trying to buy skirts and add them. "All sides are undecorated in white styrene and come with window glazing. Most sides will also come with floor plans and a photo of the car. They require a core kit or donor r-t-r car to complete. We also sell core kits, interiors, and other detail parts.

It would be the car I'd want to mimmick but the bash would start from a Walthers 932-9004 which would get close enough - but with skirts.

I have looked at those Ed and may have a go at one in the future, although you're right I should ask if they have seperate skirts available.

I don't know if it would help you but you might ask if there are separate skirts available from Union Station Products. Is this the car you want to add skirts to?

I have a few brass passenger cars that have separate skirts that can be soldered on if desired but I've never attempted it myself.

I am wondering if anyone has approached this topic? I've searched around and can find bits and pieces about re skirt removal but nothing about their application. My current thinking is to cut them off a skirted car and install but I'd welcome any ideas and pointers to others' work. I am hoping to give it a go on an old Walthers Super Chief mid-train lounge I got about 20 years ago to add to my vaguely representative late 30's Chief.
