I hear there are a few imposters out there.

Of course there is!
Is there a problem, or is it Abe Froman?

I may be a bit too lazy to look over the list and pinpoint them, Especially the Wagon Top!
But I can only imagine when those Two Beauties (Glide) Roll over my Timber Trestle after it is tracked and painted
I learned from Wayne through the years All my bridges are completely removable you know

Living the dream.
My most recent few- I find Accurail's data-only cars are a lot of fun to play with.

Along those lines, there's my most recent one, bringing slightly suspicious-looking sausages to a market near you.

I think he needs a car from the New Orleans & Fiddler's Green. A G-scale or Gauge 1 box would be about right for the size, although he might need to change the springs in the HO trucks for proper tracking.
up831I was going to suggest that you missed Whit Towers' Alturas and Lone Pine
I have the NMRA Heritage car for Whit Tower's Railroad.
-Photograph by Kevin Parson
Even more cool than that...
I bought the collection of custom decals that other modelers traded with Whit Towers. These gave me some gems like this one, with decals right from Whit's personal collection.
This collection was one of the best thngs I ever bought.
I was going to suggest that you missed Whit Towers' Alturas and Lone Pine, but then I read that the listed cars are cars that you've already done. Never mind!
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
PM RailfanKevin) Suprised to see there wasnt an "Undecorated" or "Unlettered" Railway in there with the RepMarks "UND" or "UNL" respectively.
There was a custom run of the UNDECORATED RAILROAD painted onto an Athearn 50 foot single door boxcar made made in the 1980s. I bought one for myself back in February.
Since it is a basic Athearn Blue Box model, it does not qualify to be in the Fleet Of Nonsense without a lot of upgrades, but it will appear as a prop.
PM RailfanAnother thread you could start would be naming your second connecting railroad. Dawdle and Delay being the first, what could be the other?
The DAWDLE AND DELAY is a reasonably famous ficticious model railroad. In a stroke of luck, I bought a lot of old decals on eBay that came with 25 sets for the D&D. Having the SGRR interchange with the D&D is a nice touch for me.
I would like the second interchange to be another custom roadname of renown. My first choice would be the NEW ENGLAND BERKSHIRE AND WESTERN.
In reality, it will probably be just another instance of opportunity. When a good lot of custom printed decals comes up on eBay I will just get them.
There was a huge lot of Rail Grpahics decals made for the VANCOUVER NORTHERN that showed up, but that location is too specific for me to use as an interchange. Maybe the NEBW is too.
PM RailfanOrville, Gallactica, Rocinonte & Enterprise Railroad - OGRE
I have this one...
I will probably do a Star Wars themed car one day, and probably Gallactica as well.
Tin Can IIThat's a very good looking car.
Thank you.
The AS car is one of my favorites. I used the data that came with the F&C kit because it fit between the braces properly, and the very small ABILENE SOUTHERN herald fit in perfectly.
That's a very good looking car.
Kevin) Suprised to see there wasnt an "Undecorated" or "Unlettered" Railway in there with the RepMarks "UND" or "UNL" respectively. I have to admit your freelancing by name is certainly unique.
Heres another you can add since no one can pronounce it (correctly) anyways - Pierre Market. Pure fantasy there, and the decals wouldnt be too hard to find .
Another thread you could start would be naming your second connecting railroad. Dawdle and Delay being the first, what could be the other?
A few suggestions:
Fizzypop & Belchers Railway -FAB
Echo Mountain & Burning Bush Railway - EMBB
Orville, Gallactica, Rocinonte & Enterprise Railroad - OGRE
Darby, Arron & North Gordon Railway - DANG
Orange Orangatang & Phoebe Snow Railway - OOPS
Huron, Union & Howardsville Railway - HUH
West Haggis & Tumult Railway - WHAT
West Umberton, Philo & Temple Railway - WUPT
Union, Harris, Ontario & Henderson Railroad - UHOH
Minniville, Ingot, & North Evans Railroad - MINE
I can see where one can get carried away by this thread. Let us know if you decide on the 2nd.
Have fun!

Darn!
I guess I will have to send another freight car off to be destroyed.
This one was even built from a nice Funaro And Camerlengo kit.
This one is ABILENE SOUTHERN, not ABILENE AND SOUTHERN.
Have I found a loophole, can I keep this model?

OvermodI trust there is a backstory for those 'phenyl esters' along the lines of GERN. If not, there needs to be...
-Photpgraph by Kevin Parson
I grew up in Gainesville, Florida, which was previously named Hogtown before the University Of Florida was built, and they decided to change the name of the city. I had the large "HPE" lettering from a military model, and i did a Google search for liquids intitialed "PE", and that is what I found.
That is the whole story.
I trust there is a backstory for those 'phenyl esters' along the lines of GERN. If not, there needs to be...
... and surely there's a tank labeled for methyl ethyl awful in that fleet ... or perhaps the phenyl ethyl awful used in production of the, ah, esters.
I always wondered what they called the ore for upsidaisium. Like the way quap was the ore for carolinum...
crossthedogI've been watching this thread since last night and I still have no clue what it's about. Can someone explain?
Matt,
I have taken "freelancing" as far as I can. Not only is the STRATTON AND GILLETTE freelanced, but EVERY car in my fleet is freelanced. There is nothing on my layout that is real.
I don't even claim that the SGRR is in the United States. On my "Dream House" layout I actually made a new land mass West of Vancouver Island where the SGRR ran!
So, the "Roll Call" is a list of all the roadnames that I have painted and decorated onto freight cars to use on my layout.
The SGRR will interchange with two railroads on my layout. One will be the DAWDLE AND DELAY, the other is yet to be determined.
A forum member asked on another thread how many made-up raodnames I had. I started a new thread with the answer because I did not want to pull the other thread further off topic.

"One difference between pessimists and optimists is that while pessimists are more often right, optimists have far more fun."
Returning to model railroading after 40 years and taking unconscionable liberties with the SP&S, Northern Pacific and Great Northern roads in the '40s and '50s.
As a going away gift when I was at my last club meeting before away going to college, a member who had been modeling since he was a teen in Thirties gave me an ancient Athearn metal car circa 1950 lettered for his pike, the Great Northwestern. Only thing I've done to it is substitute Kadees for X2f's.
There's a lot I recognize.
How about South Hampton Ipswich & Tyrone. I won't give you the reporting marks. But I bet you could guess.
I need to do some hoppers for my South Shore Aggregates. Some old GLA and H21 would be great.
Pete.

Also the Ohio Southern, while Jim Hediger's model railroad name it was the portion of the DT&I from Springfield to Ironton that operated as the Ohio Southern from 1891 to 1898.

Saltzburg Salt, because I needed salt for my tannery and got a Bowswer hopper undecorated, and then needed to brand it.
I have an old gondola from my original HO train set. It came with plastic cannisters of some sort. I labeled them Caution! Upsidaisium! Weightless when fully loaded. It's the anti-gravity mineral from old Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons.

I don't see either of mine in there, so maybe one is actually unique... I did find one elsewhere, but only after starting to paint the locomotive. (And I already had a few decals for MOW railcars...)
