Kevin, I still support your original post on that other thread. I don't model the same way you do, or Sheldon does, or Dr. Wayne does. But, it's the individuality of the hobby that keeps me looking at other layouts, particularly at shows or layout tours where I get a chance to view layouts as they're built. There is so much variety in construction techniques and scenery that it's great that every modeler develops his own niche and let's us see it.

There were 4 farm fresh watermelons in the back of the truck.
One went to Gerry, the little old lady that had her 89th birthday this late summer, and lives right across the hall. Sweetest little old lady you'd ever want to meet and we just love her.
One went to John that feeds me my jobs. In my book John is the best guy I have ever met in my life and deserves beef sticks on top of his watermelon and he got those too.
Third watermelon went to Barb. Because Barb is a little old lady but she thinks of everybody else before she thinks of herself and that's why we think so much of her.
We only got the Orange Crush hybrid watermelon going up to Wisconsin the day after tomorrow.

Tin Can IIMy trauma during Welcome Week
I remember taking my oldest to college many years ago. Got her moved into the dorm okay, but then had to leave her there for the three hour drive home. That was very traumatic for me.
However the real trauma started not shortly after we got home. We got a phone call from the daughter saying that the boyfriend (who did not attend school there) of her new roommate had informed her that he intended to stay the night and that she needed to find somewhere else to stay.
As you can imagine I went into full run 8 protective father mode. Took a couple phone calls to get that straightened out pretty quickly.

There was a hilarious stand-up comedy bit I caught on NetFlix a couple of years ago. The comedian was talking about how Millenials were going to eventually become the grumpy grandparents of the future.

Mike: Hopefully the trauma that is move in is over. We try to plan as many student-centric events during what we call Welcome Week. If at all possible, try to get your daughter involved in student clubs and/or organizations. The more students she meets, the more chances she has to find folks with common interests.
My trauma during Welcome Week were two public hearings and a board meeting; all in the same night. The hearings were about our budget and property tax rate. It was a lot of stress; but it is very necessary, and a lot of detail work. Glad it is over.

It's another beautiful day outside on the Great Plains. It was cool, clear, and not humid for my morning walk.

I've got one thing scheduled this morning, and then it's a clear day. With the weather outside so nice, I feel a little (very little) guilt spending the day inside working on the layout.

It's kind of neat that the logo has a bee hive, Utah's symbol.

FWIW, Kevin I saw nothing wrong with your thread and tried to relate that in my post, although maybe not as directly as I should. Can't remember. My brain isn't fully awake yet! The thread situation reminds me of our Corporate sensitivity training we were all subjected to at work. After a while matriculating verious sessions, I came to realize that they all came from one side with one solution, that the speaker....in this case writer of a thread comment...is the problem and (usually a he) needs to learn how to be more sensitive when speaking in order to not offend any potnetial listener.
I always thought half the problem came from listeners being too sensitive. Maybe instead of just teaching others how to speak or write MORE sensitivley, we should focus half the energy on teaching others how to listen or read LESS sensitively. That would avoid conflict too.

Maxman, I can only answer about imgur.com, where I store my photos. It's free. When you upload a picture and click on it, a menu will open with lots of options. One of the options is a BB code (not the linked BB code). I assume it stands for bulletin board. Anyway, when you copy that code and paste it here in the text, the photo won't appear until you post your comment.
I know it is more difficult than some sites that you can just upload your photos and they appear, but I assume the forum didn't want to have the huge memory to store all the photos.
