Paul, the super bowl is a big hole in the ground. All the US trains must cross the bowl at least once a year. It has a very narrow bridge, only two trains are allowed at a time. This time one train from Philly gets to cross, and one train from New England. If they both meet at the same time, which train will cross first ?[:D][:D]

I think the New England train will cross the most, but not sure about first. Proabably. This train crossing can even be bet on, so that makes it even more exciting.

I am still looking for my Charger train, saw an Elvis train, so Chargers can't be far behind. [:)]

Sometimes, I can almost believe that they realize they're in the entertainment business, and they don't want to run up the score so much that people lose interest in the 3rd quarter. Either that, or once they figure they've got enough points on the board, they go into run-down-the-clock mode and let the Defense control the rest of the game.

The big TV shares a room with the fixin's for the train layout. Hopefully, by this time next year I'll be operating and watching the game at the same time.

Mr Beasley, you have got it made. Big screen and trains. Beat the heck out of my garage, cold and only a washer to watch. [:D]

Hey Bill,

that just seems like soooooooooo many points. Two touchdowns. I thought the spread was 6.5 [8D]

Guess I have to follow closer.

Although I am not a fan of the Patriots (Ravens Rule!), I think I will profit from them on 2/6. I am giving my colleagues Philly and 13 -1/2 points........this outta be fun!!!

Way to go TIM baby !!!! Now we have people in California and GMO Fan from Bama routing for the Patriots....but maybe thats because the Pats have guys from many different states playing on the team, that gives you your own guy to root for.

You call them boring. Yeah, I guess...They just win. And win..And win !! Man, that is boring. Just because they don't showboat, dance jigs on the field, act like they are pulling their pants down, and other ignorant crap.......And yet I digress.. Your right, the Patriots are boring, if they are beating YOUR team....[:(!]

The EAGLES will win!!!!! Their defence can stop New England, and if Donovan McNabb has a good game, no doubt, we win. Plus, it looks like T.O. might be ready to play!
New England is a good, tough team, but the Eagles can and will win!

The Pats all the way. The TEAM work they put into the game is the best in football and most other sports. The coaching staff and the work ethics of the team are exceptional. Shutting down one of the best offenses ever in pro football while missing 3 top defensive starters is [tup][tup]. Then putting 41 points on the board against this years best defensive team, amazing. I predict they will beat the Eagles in all areas of the game. Even if there is no snow in Jacksonville on the day of the game. [:D]

Well the Patriots get my vote after seeing how they destroyed the Steelers and lets not forget the Colts the week before.

I dont think the Eagles even have a chance with or without TO. I wouldnt mind seeing the Eagles win, but I just can't stand TO.

Was watching ESPN and they were talking about Bill Belichick and how he is up there with Vince Lombardi. The stats they showed, except for Super Bowl wins, both were pretty even.

Paul, don't get me wrong, they are a GREAT team. One of the best ever in my opinion.

But they are so technically good, that I get bored watching them.

But I must admit, I get bored watching most of the NFL. (But not as bored as watching NBA.)

I think I stick with my trains. [:D]

I mostly watch it for the commercials (the car companys usually have some cool ones) as I don't really like football. But I like the Patriots. They'll win, no doubt.

I hope the Pat's win, and it's probably a safe guess that it won't be an as interesting halftime show this year. TB

Paul, Tim, you said it best. The Pats are a NON EGO team, and a lot of that has to come from the coaches who preach this behavior. They never put down another team, no matter how weak they may be, they treat other players with class, as well as the fans and the media. Boston sports writers and TV sportscaster are arguably the toughest in the country, and these players handle them with complete professionalism. They also do a lot of humanitarian aid all around the New Enland area, not just Massachusetts.
Look at their record? Look at what they have achieved with so many good players out with the Flu, or out for the season with a broken foot like Ty Law their allstar Defensive back? Many other teams would have folded, but instead, Offensive, and Special teams players came to the coach and said " what can we do help out"? And they did! They played TWO WAYS, Offense and Defense!! How many players, with big salaries, do you see do that? Football is rough enough playing one way without being on the field for both Offense AND Defense in the NFL no less!! Only people who have played football in High School or College can fully appreciate that!!!
They beat the best Offensive team in the league, and they beat the Steelers at home, who have a tremendous Defensive team, big and tough.

I am also happy for the Eagles, they finally have come to the big one after some very disappointing playoff losses over the past few seasons. It should be a good game!!

May the best team win....GO PATS !!!!!

My favorite commercial was Herding Cats, back in the Internet Bubble days. I think it was for some dot-com, or maybe an online brokerage. For those who missed it, it had a bunch of grizzled western cowhands, only they were herding tabbies and calicos, not Angus and Longhorns.

As for "wardrobe malfunctions," I really, really hope we don't get to see Paul McCartney in some embarrasing state of undress.

And for those who don't like off-topic posts, well, I do! I used to frequent the Flight Simulator forums at AVSIM. They were always pretty tightly focussed, and as a result we never saw as much personality as I see on this forum. Maybe the flight sim types are more geeky and one-dimension than MR people, or maybe it's just that this forum has the extra latitude to talk about interests other than the Main Topic.

And Go Pats!

I would have to say that one of my Favs 9that i can remember (And yes the frogs and the lizards were great, and second on better games some years with the Bud Bowl) was the commericial withthe guy who had the trained hawk to get him his beer. Then finally the girls ask him "where does he get those" "I dont know...." The you see him dive bombing a cafe... That was good.... :D

Thank God I wasnt born in Dallas [;)] I figure I can enjoy this for atleast a week, then I will start getting nervous. I am true fan so odds dont effect me. I was the only guy in the bar when they went 3-13 with Koy Detemer throwing on MNF 5 or 6 years ago. So I will pull for them again in blind faith. WooHoo!!!!

I see someone beat me to getting this final poll up, but I'm glad its here. I can't say that I have any love for either team, but Philly is one of those teams I love to hate. This is mostly due to their fans--you know, the batteries and ice ball types of incidents. That leaves me to root of the Pats I suppose--begrudgingly. I think--hope--it will be a good game, but no way do I see the Eagles winning. After years of NFC domination in the Super Bowl, the AFC is just too strong these days.

I know the Pats will probably win, but my vote in the poll went to the Eagles. My real interest in the NFL this season ended with the Saints last game, we went 8 and 8, as we keep saying in New Orleans, 'SOS' - same ole Saints, and 'maybe next year'.
