I'm glad you finally got your unpleasant experiences with DT solved. I'm hoping proper management of this unfortunate condition will keep things under control and prevent surgery.
I know what you mean about the food commercials. Especially you mentioning a big juicy turkey. I was on a liquid and certain soft food diet while taking two heavy dose antibiotics that felt like they were poisoning me for two weeks. Even the junk food that I rarely ever touch looked good on the fast food commercials
From here on out I won't be eating food like that anymore and not surprised it doesn't really bother me.
Ya, the Mustang The first ride this spring unfortunately is a drive over to my mechanics place. Love the guy but I call him the Piper.
We used very high quality parts rebuilding her and going over everything with a fine-tooth comb at my brother-in-law's shop in Wisconsin. I think that was about 7 years ago.
After converting the one wheel wonder from a (3 to 1) ratio 9-inch rear end to a (3.73 to 1) ratio posi-traction rear end, I have to admit I've been driving her a bit hard sometimes. Especially by downshifting to assist braking that I haven't upgraded yet... If you want to start fast, you need to be able to Stop Fast!
Well anyway, last fall my clutch pedal was acting all wanky. I think the problem is internal. It hesitates after being engaged where it is supposed to stop, but then the pedal just keeps going and springs my knee up to the steering wheel. That ain't very normal
I know they say go easy on your machinery and your machinery will go easy on you. But the temptation is too great behind the wheel of a muscle machine sometimes So I have to pay the Piper.

My coffee maker broke this morning. It was one of the ultra-cheapies and was over a year old. That is less than $2.00 per month. I'll count that as money-worth.
At work, I have noticed a few people each day buying a large diameter garden hose, and a female adapter to go with it. One of the other employees explained it to me. It seems that as the seasonal residents are leaving to go North, their next-door neighbors buy what they need to connect the hose bibs together and steal water from their meter. How scummy can you get? Apparently this type of theft is rampant in manufactured home communitities. Sad.

Hey TF, glad to hear you are on the mend. I can relate to your happy meal at the end of the treatement. I used to suffer from diverticulitis, and I'd wind up in the ER about once a year in an incredible amount of pain. After a night of the high power pain killers, I'd be stuck in the joint for a few days with no food, just an IV with antibiotics. One time I went in 2 days before Thanksgiving. Almost every commercial on the TV would show a huge Thanksgiving dinner or food of some kind, whitch made the fasting soooo much more dificult. I've since been repaired with a cut and splice and have been fine since. Talk to your Doc about having a dose of antibiotics in your medicine cabinet as getting on them as soon as a flare up starts is important.

Wifey pooh brought me out to dinner early yesterday evening as it had been two days after antibiotics, so I could have dairy and regular food again. My choice was the Italian restaurant Buca Di Beppo for manicotti, fettuccine alfredo and chicken marsala
Two weeks with nothing solid was delicious to enjoy some good comfort food for a change.
I seen Green Machines can be seasoned with an orange flavor as well Ed Reminds me of the A-frames Up North with multiple barrels up the stack to provide extra heat radiation. Flames would blow out the roof stack periodically on a cold night from creosote build up in the barrels.
I read an article how the band "Three Dog Night" chose their name. One of the band members had three dogs and welcomed them all to sleep along with him in the Rack on one of those cold nights
Your wife's Grandfather used to pull his own teeth with a pliers Charley I thought my marine seargent step Dad was the only one who did that.
I remember sitting in the other room at the lodge watching him through the mirror in the bathroom doing that once. I sat there 'Cringing'! You know, ...when your lips stretch-tite, showing all your teeth and all the neck muscles clinch up to your chin... He just turned around and smiled after he replied, "That's two hundred bucks that stays in my pocket"...
That's why I immediately thought of that story when you talked about your toothache and drill bits drilling through soft material Dave. It brought that memory back clear as day as I experienced that exact same cringe
I know it can't be helped completely but try to put your worries and fears away about that heart murmur surgery Rick. My biological dad had that procedure done many years ago before all the advancements they have now and it went quite smoothly.

Good morning, everyone.
We spent some time in the basement last night -- the tornado sirens started about 8:00 p.m. High winds, but evidently the tornado that was sighted did no damage. The best news -- we got about an inch of rain, which is a huge amount for us on the prairie.
I'm an NFL football fan, I have several favorite teams that I watch, and I sometimes attend games. With all of that, I can't understand the wall-to-wall coverage of the NFL draft.

A couple of weeks ago I had an Echocardiogram and they found a Mitral Valve Prolapse with Regurgitation. Yesterday I had a TEE procedure which confirmed the diagnosis so there will be a repair job done in the future they are optimistic on the procedure as my overall health is good. Rick, I had a couple of heart procedures about 5 years ago. I'm still here, although I wasn't so sure I would be. I honestly think they over-reacted.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
All our hopes for a successful repair and speedy recovery Rick. I think Henry had something similar, I am not sure though.

This has been a great day so far to say the least around here! Just got a text from my DIL with a photo of my youngest Grandaughter recieving her junior Black Belt in Karate this evening. I pity the first boy who tries to get fresh with that young lady, I do!

I had basement window wells fill with rain water a few years ago. Twice! No fun.
It caused the particle board underlayment that I had down for over 25 years to buckle. I remember checking the rain gauge. We had 3.75 inches of rain in about two-hours.

After I made the repairs it happened again about a year later. I've since made remediations to the slope outside the basement wall. Another problem is that there is a roof valley at this point and the short piece of gutter simply can't take two inches of rain an hour.
There goes another decoder...

Been a really long week at work. Will be here a bit more, sneaking a peak at the forum while I await a reply from a co-worker.
We did get rain Wednesday night; first measurable rain in a long time. We had the sprinkler guy here Tuesday, found six breaks. Our lines are metal pipe; and break when the soil shifts (I winterized the system before the first freeze). Found another leak yesterday.
No model train activity in a while. I would like to work on some kits this week end; think I have worked hard enough this week to get some time in the basement.
Today's picture is an example of being in a perfect place at the wrong time. The sky was overcast and the lighting was terrible.
This was the best I could do.
The World Is A Beautiful Place
This has been a very lazy day. We had a good rain shower for the third day in a row, and now my wife and I are going to watch a movie on the couch.
Not my photos of course... I'm not sure that I'll get back into the city again...
and cerrtaainly not into the restriocted spaces.
York1Ray, that's nice your field house has a track over 300 m. Our field house track is 200 meters, so I have to circle a lot more to get the same effect. I don't like going there except in very bad weather -- going in circles gets tiresome for me.
It sure helps when there is good scenery... (like today...) Summertime I usually do the 5k right here in the neighborhood. I have a route that is almost exactly 5k right by my house. Most of the year around here running outside is not pleasent and can be downright dangerous....
The HWS Fieldhouse has a good indoor track that is used for meets during the winter season (6 lanes). My sons competed there for school events back in High School. 3 of the lanes circle around a curtain (removed for track meets) that house 6 tennis courts in the center. They also have several Handball courts and some other courts in a large room there. Also inside the building is major workout areas with all kinds of equipment on two floors on one side of the fieldhouse. Cardiac recovery for local patients is in that area as well. Very nice place that is partially open for community use (for a reasonable fee).
Sun has been shining here today all day. Temp has only gotten up to 53°F though. Tomorrow I shall mow the lawn for the second time this Spring.... That will get me some milage in tomorrow. I use a battery electric walk behind mower for that....
Ray, I was out shopping today and went to our favorite produce stand, which just opened for the season. It was a pleasure just to go there, and I picked up vegetables for the next few days. I smiled the whole time I was there.
They have a field outside with animals. There were animals I thought were yaks, but they were actually Scottish highland cattle. I hope they're pet or show animals.
