Edited my post. Sorry.

John-NYBWExample: A few months ago I purchased a DVD collection of the entire Sopranos series. When I am done, I am going to send it to my sister. Neither of us had seen the series when it originally ran. I don't think I am guilty of piracy.
No, you're not. But if you made copies of them for your sister then, yes you would be.

A slight error Steve. I did not get the DVD. I wish I had though.

John-NYBW This doesn't sound like piracy. The OP found where the original discs were being given away for free. Wouldn't piracy involve making illegal copies? If I purchase copyright protected material, aren't I free to give or resell my original material to whomever I choose? The post I deleted asked the OP to copy the discs for him. That's piracy.
Just because Dan got this DVD collection for free doesn't mean others can request their own free copies. This item is still under copyright. Solicitation of software piracy will result in penalties.
A bargain bin alright.
DanRaitzCost $0.00.
Now we can all agree that is a great bargain!
