Yesterday, USPS tracking told me an ebay purchase had been delivered to my mailbox which is down a hill about 90 yards from my front door. I didn't pick it up until today when I took the dogs out for their walk. While I was down there, the Amazon truck arrived with another package. Tracking told me USPS was going to deliver two more packages later in the afternoon and since the trash truck came yesterday, I just put the packages in the empty trash can until the rest of the haul arrived. That came about a half hour ago and it turned out there were three packages in mail box and I'm still due to receive one more delivery from Amazon later today. I threw the packages in the trash can with wheels and turned it into Santa's sleigh. I can't even remember everything I have ordered off ebay and Amazon this week so some of these are going to be a surprise. Most of these are for model railroading items.

I thought this story was going to end with the trash truck coming along and compacting all the packages in the back of the truck!
Didn't Molly Brown hide some of her gold rush money in the wood stove? Poof! Another woman in China hid $30,000 in her stove and forgot it was in there and lit the stove to make some tea!
I sometimes get surprises when something arrives that I forgot I ordered or, sometimes one of my sons will order a gift for us and we will find a package waiting on the porch.
Our delivery drivers are great about making sure deliveries are well taken care of. I've been "mail-order" shopping since the mid-1970s when Sears would ship orders to my home for only a slight extra charge.
Have fun! Ed
If it weren't for the fact the trash collector had come the day before, that would have been a distinct possibility. I'm that absent minded.
I used to do a lot of shopping with Sears and J. C. Penney. I would phone in my orders and get it in a few days. It's sad what has happened to those two companies. It's what happens when a company doesn't adjust to the changing times. I'm surprised Sears hasn't gone completely under. It's only a matter of time. They were the Amazon of their day and the railroads played a big part of their success. People in the remotest regions could order through the catalog and it would be delivered by train, usually in an express car. It used to be you could buy anything from them and they would stand behind it no questions asked. I noticed their customer service began slipping and I haven't bought anything from Sears in about 20 years.

I was expecting that ending also.

I did receive some Utah Pacific spark arrestors.

Living the dream.
When I was only a few years old the broiler door under the oven folded open and made a nice ramp to push my plastic automobile up into what looked like a perfect garage. That did not end well.
Well, its weekend photo fun time. Lets see the goods!
I also thought you lost them to the trash pick up. Glad I was wrong. Dan
