Maine-themed Model Railroad Display
Posted by MDI Mainer on Saturday, January 15, 2022 4:47 PM

A new Maine-themed HO Scale model railroad is coming to the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport in the Spring of 2023.

The display (currently 40 x 50 feet) was built over the past quarter-century by Harold and Helen Beal, and will be deconstructed and moved from Jonesport to a new building purpose-built to house the railroad and comply with the current building code for a publicly accessible venue.

The project will cost about USD 2.6 million, and is being underwritten by the Hansjörg Wyss Foundation of Washington, DC. The Foundation's founder happened upon the exhibit while visiting Maine, and befriended the Beals.
