Rich:
I signed up for the new package when it first came out and after the initial "getting used to" period I no longer had to log in each time. I recently upgraded to Windows 11 with the same results. This morning I was asked to log in for the first time in months. It may well be as Overmod suggests - a security issue.

The reported issue is a client-side setting, probably as noted that he's either clearing cookies or using some sort of private-browsing setting. The login 'credential' is set via cookies, which are likely persistent if the 'keep me logged in' is checked.
Note that Kalmbach does periodically require a re-login, for security-related reasons. I think I would do this a little more frequently than they do, but I'm not second-guessing.
The no-log-out situation has appeared a couple of times and appears to be the result of tinkering with the back-end security management so it ignores or can't read or set cookie information. It has always gotten corrected when IT eventually gets its round tuit.
Just to put my in and in the opposite direction, the only device that I can even log in on is my all in one tablet and only in the Chrome browser. (Yes I have tried it in Firefox.) I don't have to relog in on that browser either. I have tried to log in on the house desktop (in both Firefox and CHrome) and also on my phone. The system keeps giving me the same log in screen in all cases. Go figure.
Never tried to log out before, just always had to log back in after I clear files.
I tried to log out just now to see, .....NOPE, your right, it don't work.

Doesn't it make a different the browser you use and from where you access MR?
I don't believe so. I was using Chrome, thought using FireFox would solve issue. Nope, still can't log out on either browser.

I thought it was put your caboose in, take your caboose out And ride it around and that's how we do the caboose hoki poki, then spin around 2 times clock wise, 4 times counter close wise, the sacrifice out engines.
Sean, the unknown train travler,
They do that, don't they Dave?
I don't know if a phone is different than a computer. My stay signed in function works here until I clear all the cache and temporary files. Then I have to re-sign in every time and it's the same on other sites as well.

I haven't been there in a while, it sure has changed!

Yea, when the times started to change, companys like Kalmbach did not change operations fast enough and the change happened fairly slowly too. Just one more issue with the forum sofware.
Yes, the forum software has been messed up for years. I can't count how many times my login would stop working and after few weeks of frustration, it would magically work again. The message notification feature quit working some years ago. It appears this software will continue to be used until one day they shut it down and scatter everyone to the 4 winds of the earth.

Not that I know of, and happens on no other sites.
Funny, for some of us, the problem is the direct opposite. Clicking "log out" does nothing, it still keeps you logged in.
Probaly a setting in your browser. Does it clear your cache or cookies when you shut it down?
I've been logged in for several days.
