Assistance with Posting Photos from Flickr
Posted by WilmJunc on Friday, December 24, 2021 7:35 AM

Does posting photos from Flickr still work?  I believe that I am correctly following the instructions given on this site, but the photos are not being displayed.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

What worked for me last time was to copy the bb code, but instead of pasting it in the insert picture function, paste it right in the body of your post. On the post screen it will appear as text but once you actually post it, the photo will appear.  This is different from the last flickr work around I did, but the former work around wouldn't work the last time I tried. Hope this works for you.

It's been a while since I've used my Flickr, let's see how it works.

Click on your picture, copy the BBcode, and then paste in your forum post, without using the picture icon.

Just like Mike says.

Thanks, that worked.  It was the BBcode that was needed.  The instructions above should be updated.

I just signed up for Flickr and uploaded my first image.  When I right click on the image, I get the option to "Copy Image Link".  That gives a URL.  Is that different than a BBcode, and if so, where is the BBcode?

Colorado Ray
When I right click on the image, I get the option to "Copy Image Link".

Go to the "Share" arrow in the lower-right:

A window will pop up and give you options that should include "bbcode" which you can then highlight and copy.

Paste that directly into the text window in the M-R forum reply. It will look like this until you post the reply.

But the photo will appear when you finally click "Submit Your Reply."

Good Luck, Ed

Thanks Ed,

I'll give that a try tomorrow.  That was a great explanation,

A few additional details:

I needed to share from the "Photostream" tab, not the "Camera Roll" tab in order to get the bbcode popup.  Also, I believe you need to have the photo available for public viewing and not marked private.
