My Model Railroader magazine is up for renewal this month. Kamback Publishing is running a 2 for 1 promotion. If you renew your subscription to Model Railroader they will give, to the person of your choice, a free years subscription to Model Railroader. What a really cool way to give a subscription at Christmastime. Pick a youngster or adult in your neighborhood who has seen your layout and expressed an interest. This is a great way to bring new people into the hobby. A plus, you have a Christmas present to give at no cost to you. Merry Christmas from the folks at The Eagle Pass & Moose Lake RR.

Great idea.  You also could leave old MR magazines at a doctor or dentist's office.

They don't allow them anymore.

I used to do that.  I'd leave Walthers flyers, too.  Those offices are always full of Golf Digest, People and Parenting magazines.  MR is certainly a nice diversion.

Here, since the start of Covid all  donated magazines etc.  have been removed from surgeries and other public places.   Even little areas for children to play  have closed.

It's that way here now, too.  On the other hand, they have tightened up scheduling so I don't have to wait as long in the waiting room anymore.

Our waiting rooms had all magazines and toys removed, but they have all pretty much returned to normal now.

I agree with the OP 'dstark' that this Model Railroader promotion is pretty nice.  I hope many subscribers will take advantage and give a guest subscription to a young person who may be interested in the hobby.
