peco turnouts

anyone have any information that could help I have a peco electrofrog turnout wich i got by accident (i did not no the difference between electrofrog and insulfrog) I thought they were the same can the electrofrog turn out be converted to work like the insulated frog turnout. any advice will be well taken

Didn't you get an instruction sheet with it that explains how to connect it to the required Peco relay and motor? If not, you may be able to download them if Peco has a Web site.

peco electro frogs need insulated rail joiners on both rails of the frog. since the point in contact with the stock rail supplies power to the frog a short will be made if you don't use them. since no power can pass through the IJ you will have to place a feeder on the rail past the IJ location
