A friend of mine has an HO Scale 14 Car Brass 1950's "Sunset Limited"by Soho. The set runs well, but the cars lack diaphragms. Does anyone know any that are good quailty to use?
I'll pass this info on to him as soon as I have some answers. Thanks
Best?
Probably these:

IF his curves can accommodate full width diaphragms.
Good Luck, Ed
I'm not an SP guy, but I don't think the Sunset Limited cars were painted in the Daylight color scheme.

Here is a link to a Sunset Limited dining car. It is indeed silver with the red stripe above the windows. This was the standard paint scheme for the Sunset Limited. Of course there were substiute cars used at various times.

I'm obviously not, either. Got ahead of myself there.

To attempt to answer the OP as I've been in his situation many times with brass passenger cars, my first choice is to epoxy the IHC rigid plastic diaphragm which looks good to me:

The downside here is, of course, that these haven't been made in probably fifteen years or so. They pop up on eBay now and then.

The next choice might be the American Limited line which are a little fussy to assemble but once you've done one you get the hang of it.

I've used their full-width diaphragms on twin-unit diners with some success.

They are available in six-packs and are reasonably priced.
Next, and I haven't tried these personally, would be the High-Tech Details models:

Hope that helps,

Thanks for your input.
Two things:
1. I'll ask him what his turnout radius is
and
2. I'll check ebay to see if these diaphragms are still available
I insist on diaphragms that touch and work on my passenger cars. So I use American Limited diaphragms.
I close couple my cars based on the design of these diaphragms so that they touch and work as shown in the pictures.
