I have several of these engines.  Not sure what deatils you are concerned about as they didnt have many.

The prototype for this spicific engine is still running on its orginal railroad.  It is in Cass West Viginia.  And if you search fo photos of Cass Scenic Railroad No5 (State Park) you should find a lot of photos of the prototype.

The railroad changed owners and names a lot over the century plus this engine has existed being orginalky owned by the West Virginia Pulp and Paper company via various subsidiaries and them sold yo Mower then mower closed and sold to the state and still No5 steams on.

There is a whole book on this engine you can find if you are interested.

Mike,

Not sure what details you need. The shays originally came with a bag of details - toolboxes, hoses, etc..These were to be added by the modeler. The shays looked great without them but they were included for those who wanted to go the extra mile. If you need parts on the shay that weren't in the detail bag, most of them are still available from Bachmann. Other detail parts are available from PSC and other suppliers. The shay in the photo below was superdetailed from parts I had laying around and an old Westside models shay detail kit.

Have fun,

Guy

I got a Bachmann HO Shay #5 Greenbrier & Elk River RR. I was wondering if any one that has this Shay could you take a close pic of the top, bottom, front, back, and sides. I am going to restore this and ordered the newsletter gears but this one has a few cosmetic parts I think that are missing. I will be in the market for cosmetic parts if anyone has this particular one for parts. You can send pics to my email using Shay model pics for subject to

n8fwd@hotmail.com

thanks Big Mike
