I have decided to stick with N scale, As it gives me a lot more options and I can do a lot more that Just can not do with the space I have with HO.

Looking to make a layout orginaly thought of N scale but considering HO. only thing I have a small space of like 3 foot by 8 foot long.

Hello... My first HO layout was 2 feet by 8 feet above the dresser in my master bedroom. When we moved to a bigger house in 1999, four feet was added to one end of the layout.

It was a switching layout with eight places to spot cars and one storage track. I had a lot of fun for more than ten years with that layout.

Hi there. This question should probably be posted under the "Layout" forum. Maybe the moderator can move it Smile.

For that space, you can do N or HO. In HO, you could do a 15 inch loop (or two!), which would accomodate small switchers and 40 ft cars, or 4 driver steam locos. A few inches more, and you could fit 18'' radius, which would make a huge difference. Otherwise, a pure switching layout can be done, with some escape tracks. Since I like locos, I like the idea of a turntable...

Hi

Looking to make a layout orginaly thought of N scale but considering HO. only thing I have a small space of like 3 foot by 8 foot long. So possibly strong industrial siding and a turntable. I know I cant have a loop or turn around being only 3 foot wide.
